In 1872 on April 10, J. Sterling Morton founded the first Arbor Day when he and his fellow Nebraskans planted one million trees. Since then, this holiday has been recognized in all 50 states as well as many countries around the world. In Illinois, Arbor Day is celebrated on the last Friday of April. The planting of trees not only improves air and water quality but can also improve your quality of life. According to Dr. Roger S. Ulrich at Texas A&M University, visual exposure to trees has produced significant recovery from stress within five minutes, as indicated by changes in blood pressure and muscle tension. This year, Raindrop Gutter Guard Systems is proud to be celebrating their first Arbor Day as a company. We are looking forward to continuing this tradition and doing our part to improve all our lives on this planet for years to come. Happy Arbor Day Everyone.
