The Heat Cable

We offer a solution to keep snow/ice in check. Once the melt-down begins after a snow fall, by itself Raindrop® inherently recovers faster because of its composition and darker color. To maximize your protection, incorporate a Heat Cable System, which can be modified to match any particular roof/gutter configuration.

Melted snow/ice comes off the roof and refreezes at the gutter line which is much colder than the higher roof areas. This melt water needs a place to go otherwise it builds up and problems begin. In all applications, make sure the heat cable runs down the entire downspout to assure that any melt water can discharge itself to ground level. Contact Raindrop® for more information.

To protect against icicles overhanging the gutter, run the heat cable atop the gutter bracket and with 1-2 inches along and below the level of the gutters front edge before Raindrop® Guards are installed. This heats the guard and gutter. Additionally, the heat cable can run along the floor of the gutter to heat the inner gutter area, as well as, up onto the roof area.

These plug-in heating cables are designed for residential and commercial roof & gutter de-icing and pipe heat tracing applications. They are suitable for various roofing materials as well as metal or plastic pipes up to 6 inches in diameter.

Factory assembled with a standard three-prong plug, each cable can simply connect to any grounded 120V receptacle. Installation is easy as the cable’s self-regulating feature allows the heating cable to be overlapped across itself without risk of overheating and/or burnout.
